The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) was created by the Political Reform Act of 1974, a ballot initiative passed by California voters in 1974 as Proposition 9.
The Act governs disclosure of political campaign contributions and spending by candidates and ballot measure committees. It also sets ethics rules for state and local government officials that impose strict limits on decisions or votes that affect the official's financial interests.
Statements of Economic Interests
The Fair Political Practices Commission requires local public officials and employees to disclose personal financial interests. Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700) (PDF) help identify areas of potential conflicts so that government officials and employees can refrain from making or participating in a government decision that may have a reasonably foreseeable material effect on his or her personal interests. The Agency Report of New Positions (Form 804)is also filed when new positions are created that will make or participate in making governmental decisions on behalf of the City of Jurupa Valley.
The Form 806is used to report additional compensation that officials receive when appointing themselves to positions on committees, boards, or commissions of another public agency or to a committee or position of the agency of which the public official is a member. The form is required pursuant to FPPC Regulation 18705.5.
Each agency must post on its website a single Form 806 which lists all the paid appointed positions to which an official can vote to appoint themselves. When there is a change in compensation or a new appointment, the Form 806 is updated to reflect the changes.
Complimentary Ticket Policy
The Complimentary Ticket Policy (PDF) governs the distribution of complimentary tickets received by the City. The purpose of this Policy is to establish a fair and equitable process for the distribution of complimentary tickets to the City in compliance with the requirements of Section 18944.1 of the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Regulations.
