Lorena is a Southern California native and resident of Jurupa Valley since 2012. She was elected to serve her city in December of 2018 and became the first Latina Mayor of Jurupa Valley in 2021.
Lorena lives with her husband Ryan in the Mira Loma community. In her spare time, she loves camping, fishing, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Lorena is a project engineer at one of the largest non-profit organizations that assist people with affordable housing and provides social services to their residents in need. She serves as a key member for multiple organizations which provide key necessities. Her purpose and passion in life are helping her community and the city of Jurupa Valley. She loves contributing her time to community events and outreach movements. She is an active volunteer with multiple ministries that provide food, shelter, clothing, and other services to the public.
Aside from her duties as a councilmember of Jurupa Valley, she is a board member with the Regional Conservation Authority (RCA) an alternate for WRCOG, a member of multiple homeless advocate groups, and continues to be an advocate to bring higher technology to the residents of Jurupa Valley.
