Calling All Volunteers: Upcoming Community Cleanup
Join us for the upcoming District 3 Community Cleanup event on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Volunteers will meet at City Hall (8930 Limonite Ave.) at 7:30 a.m. for check-in. The City of Jurupa Valley is accepting applications from existing tax-exempt California nonprofit corporations operating within its jurisdiction that provide public services eligible under the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Grants funds will be provided for the timeframe of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023 (Fiscal Year 2022-2023).
A total of $170,000 in CDBG funds may be available on a competitive basis for public services for the Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
The next City Council meeting is Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. Watch online or in-person in the City Hall Council Chambers (8930 Limonite Ave.). Included in the meeting's agenda is:
Public Hearing to discuss city council district boundaries as part of the redistricting process
Update from the Sheriff's Department
Public Hearing to consider the extension of an interim urgency ordinance enacted pursuant to Government Code 65858 establishing emergency regulations related to urban lot splits
Discussion of a city ordinance to add Chapter 11.95 to the Jurupa Valley Municipal Code relating to the Social Host Liability (prohibition against underage drinking and recovery of response costs for violations)
Discussion of the options available for Community Development Block Grant funding (CDBG-CV3)
In case you missed it, the old Kmart area on Limonite will be the new home to...Sprouts Farmers Market, Harbor Freight, and Dave's Appliance Warehouse! Talks are underway with more tenants.
City administrative offices will be closed on Monday, February 21, 2022, in observance of Presidents' Day. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
